Unlike the super stores, at Second Source your sales consultant is usually going to be the first person you call if you have any questions or concerns. Our sales staff is extraordinarily familiar with the componants of your machine and can help you with almost any problem.
Most computer problems are simple software problems, which we can quickly diagnose over the phone. If you call, you can choose to speak directly to your sales consultant, or you can leave a message in their voice mailbox. At our store, you will never be left on hold for hours. (It is not unheard of for you to spend literally hours wading through computer controlled voice systems when you call major manufacturers.)
Some of our competitors have signs in their stores stating that after 30 days, you will have to call the computer manufacturers directly should a problem arise. We, on the other hand, are always willing to answer any simple software question, or to point you in the right direction so your problem can be solved as quickly and efficiently as possible. Also, service appointments can be scheduled in advance so you can drop off and pick up your machine in only a few days - compare that to a two week minimum that most of our competitors require. Your downtime is minimized greatly.
Any system bought from us, still under warranty, gets priority service. That means we will make any repairs as quickly as possible. Make sure to ask your sales consultant for different warranty options.
Virus and Spyware Removal
Virus and Spyware Removal is our specialty.
A computer virus is a computer program that can copy itself and infect a computer. The term "virus" is also commonly but erroneously used to refer to other types of malware, adware, and spyware programs that do not have the reproductive ability.(taken from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_virus)

Signs that your computer may be infected with a virus or spyware (taken from an article posted by Thomas W. Shay):
- Computer Start-up is very slow.
- Programs respond slowly
- Computer runs very slow all the time, programs respond slowly
- Popup windows pop up even when you don’t click on anything.
- Disk Drive Light is constantly flashing, which shows the PC is working in the background. Noticeable when you are not using the computer, but its acting like it is working
- Computer shuts down on its own.
- Programs do not start, or run badly.
- Data Files are missing, damaged, or missing information.
- Music starts playing or pictures open on your computer.
- Computer locks up or freezes and you are not able to do anything but power off.
- Weird Error messages.
- Computer will not boot up.
- Hardware issues, like not printing, keyboard keys not working right, modem issues.
- Anti-Virus program gets disabled and you are not able to get it to work again.
- Internet Explorer Home Page is changed to another website and sometimes you are not able to change it back.
- You may get an Error Message saying you have an virus and to click here to get software that will clean the virus off your PC. This is a common trick, as they are the one’s who installed the virus on your computer. They just want you to pay for their software to remove the virus.
- New Icons on your desktop.
- Beware of emails that say you sent someone a virus. Friends complain of receiving e-mails from you that are infected with a virus. Sometimes virus makers can forge your e-mail address and send e-mails out to many people that look like they are coming from your computer.
- Beware of e-mails that talk about a virus that is going around and they give examples of where to go to fix it or what to do.
